BEST TIME TO VISIT JORDAN
For all around exploring & relaxing, Spring & Autumn will be the best seasons to visit Jordan. During the Summer months (June, July & August), temperatures sky rocket and exploring during the day will be very hot.
Winter has milder temperatures with fewer tourists and cheaper prices, but it will be cold and there’s more chance of rain.

HOW TO GET THERE
Jordan has 2 international airports: one in Amman, in the North of Jordan; and one in the South, Aqaba.
Many travellers do a road trip where they will fly into Amman and fly out of Aqaba, or vice-versa.

HOW TO GET AROUND IN JORDAN
The easiest and most common way to get around is by car as Jordan is great for a road trip. There are a many rental car companies to choose from and rental prices are pretty affordable compared to European prices.
Note that driving in Jordan is not always easy: bumpy roads, unannounced speed bumps and reckless drivers are not uncommon. Keep in mind that most roads have no streets lights either – I don’t recommend driving at night.
I you don’t feel like driving your own vehicle, you can also take the public bus or a taxi.

HOW MANY DAYS
The must-see places like Petra, Dead Sea & Wadi Rum are spread out and it usually takes 1-4 hours to get from town to town. We spent 8 days in Jordan and I felt it was a bit short as we didn’t visit Amman and only stayed 1 night in Wadi Rum.
From my experience, 10 days would be the ideal length.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU VISIT
Read & screenshot these tips for later!
- Purchase the Jordan pass in advance. It not only gives you access to many historical sights such as Petra, it also covers the cost of your visa;
- Book at least 2 nights in Wadi Rum. I only booked one night which I felt was not sufficient;
- Pack enough clean clothes and socks. They get very dirty very fast when exploring in Wadi Rum and Wadi Musa;
- Pack layers. The days were hot, but the nights and mornings were extremely cold, especially in the desert.
