Let’s be honest: there is nothing more iconic in Paris than the Eiffel Tower. I’ve been fortunate to have climbed the tower twice already and it was truly a great experience each time and definitely worth the price (tip: take the stairs instead of the elevator up to 2nd level). Try to go up on a bright day so you can admire the stunning views of the city.
Climbing the Eiffel Tower is must-do during your first visit to Paris. It’s however just as fun (and less expensive) to admire The Iron Lady from different perspectives and view points. Here are the best places to view the Eiffel Tower.
1. Rue de l’Université
Let’s kick off with one of the most photographed streets in Paris: Rue de L’Université. This is a super popular spot to get an Instagram shot. The main reason people come here is so take a few cute pictures.
PS: I borrowed the balloons from a photographer in the street.
How to get there: Note that Rue de l’Université is a long street. You’ll find the photo spot on the crossing between Rue de l’Université and Avenue de la Bourdonnais.

2. Pont de Bir-Hakeim
A more secluded spot to admire the Eiffel tower is at Pont de Bir-Hakeim. This bridge has a long walking path with amazing views of The Iron Lady and easy options to take some jaw-dropping pictures.
You can easily reach this point by taking metro line 6 (Charles de Gaulle–Étoile <> Nation). This line is an experience on its own as it offers incredible views of the Eiffel Tower between the Passy and Bir Hakeim station.
Location: an easy search in Google Maps will get you to Pont de Bir-Hakeim. The closest metro station is named after the bridge on metro line 6.

3. Parc du Champs de Mars
Not only is Parc du Champs de Mars a great photo spot, it’s also a great place for a picnic when the weather is nice! Wanna do both? Even better. Head over to a grocery store and get your favourite snacks. You’ll be able to enjoy an amazing view.
Tip: bring a picnic blanket.
How to get to there: search for “Parc du Champs de Mars” in Google Maps. Now find your perfect spot!

4. Pont de l’Alma
The next (photo) spot is close to Pont de l’Alma and located next to Monument Flamme De La Liberté. From here, enjoy a lovely walk along the Seine with stunning views of the Eiffel Tower. Or take some cute shots with this picture perfect backdrop. Does this scream Paris or not?
How to get there: Search for “Monument Flamme De La Liberté” in Google Maps. The closest metro station is named Pont de l’Alma on metro line 9.

5. Avenue de New York
Next up is this amazing and popular photo spot: Avenue de New York. It’s quite easy to find, but be prepared for a crowd. This place is located next to a cycle path so definitely pay attention and be careful when taking the shot.
I actually shot my first ‘viral’ Instagram reel on this exact spot, so I’ll always find this beautiful place a bit extra special.
How to get to there: head over to Pont d’léna. Walk away from the Eiffel Tower and take a turn to your left. Look for the “Avenue De New York” sign.

6. Avenue de Camoëns
Chances are you’ve already seen this place on Instagram as this is a pretty popular spot. You can’t blame the people for coming here though – this scenery is so picturesque!
How to get to there: an easy search in Google Maps will get you to this spot. When you’re walking at Boulevard Delessert, you’ll find a big staircase. Go up the stairs to reach Avenue De Camoëns.

7. Rue du Général Camou
Another great place to view the Eiffel Tower is Rue du Général Camou, which is a bit of an hidden gem in my opinion. This spot was actually my personal favourite. It felt so secluded and the best thing of all: there were no people! We had the entire street to ourselves.
Location: Rue du Général Camou, 75007 Paris, France.

8. Port De La Bourdonnais
This spot is great if you want a close-up shot from the Eiffel Tower. It’s located on a walkway and not busy at all. If you want to admire the Eiffel Tower up close at your ease or take a picture without the crowds, this is an amazing option.
