During my travels around Malaysia, the island of Langkawi surprised me the most with its stunning waterfalls, amazing beaches, unreal sunsets and unlimited things to do. Here are the top things to do on Langkawi Island.

1. Langkawi’s waterfalls
If you love chasing waterfalls, the island of Langkawi is the place to be. The nice thing is that the water is not that cold and the temperature makes for a nice swim. Make sure to visit these 3 falls during your visit – the last one is my favourite and ideal for relaxing.
- Temurun Waterfall: tallest waterfall in Langkawi
- Durian Perangin Waterfall: ideal for swimming
- Telaga Tujuh Waterfall, also referred to as Seven Wells Waterfalls
You can access all waterfalls free of charge.

2. Langkawi Sky Bridge
Langkawi’s iconic activity has to be the Sky Bride. To reach this tourist attraction, you must first take a ride on the steepest cable car in the world. How cool is that?! Amazing views are guaranteed.
This activity is a bit pricy, but the entire experience makes it worth it!
Tip: try to visit on a clear & sunny day. However, the weather can change very quickly when you are that high.

3. Pantai Cenang (sunset!)
Pantai Cenang is a very popular beach for watersports, jet ski tours, parasailing, swimming… you name it.
At nighttime, this place become especially busy because of the stunning sunsets (the best I’ve seen so far). Get some snacks and drinks in the nearby stores and enjoy an unreal view!

4. Pantai Kok Beach
Surrounded by palm trees, this beach is ideal for a relaxing afternoon by the water. The sand is so soft and the temperature of the water is just perfect for swimming. Doesn’t this look like true paradise?

5. Eagle Square
Another iconic sight on Langkawi Island is Eagle Square. This impressive statue can be found next to Kuah Jetty on the South part of the island. Stroll around the large square and enjoy the impressive views. Also a very cool spot to fly the drone!

6. Tanjung Rhu Beach
Off to North Langkawi, where you’re basically in Thailand: you can even see Thailand from Tanjung Rhu Beach.
From here, it’s very common to travel to Koh Lipe & vice versa. You have a few hotels at this beach strip, but I highly recommend Tanjung Rhu Resort. Let me tell you: you’ll want to stay forever. This stay offers incredible views, direct beach access, and fun activities such as ATV tours, sea kayaking & a cruise on an electric pedal boat.

7. Rebak island
Looking for a private island experience without breaking the bank? Rebak island is the perfect pick.
This hidden gem is located just off Langkawi Island. A private 5 minutes boat ride will get you to there.
There is only one resort on the island: Rebak island resort, so you sign up for complete relaxation in a green and stunning environment. Make sure to add this resort to your list when visiting Langkawi Island. This experience will be more than worth it.
