1. Thean Hou Temple
Let’s kick off with my favourite place in Kuala Lumpur: Thean Hou Temple.
This Chinese temple, located 15 minutes from the city center, is a dream for temple lovers & photographers. The picturesque surrounding will make you want to stay for hours.
If you’re like me and want to enjoy a place like this by yourself, come early in the morning. The official opening time is 8AM, but you are allowed to enter earlier.

2. Batu Caves
One of the most iconic spots around Kuala Lumpur is the Batu Caves. The colourful steps and Murugan Statue make for a stunning sight (& picture).
Fun fact: Murugan Statue is the tallest statue in Malaysia.
You need to cover up your shoulders and knees if you want to climbs the stairs. Also note that there are a lot of monkeys around this area and they tend to be quite aggressive. Watch your stuff at all times and don’t feed them.

3. KL Tower
Just like in New York City, you must climb at least one of the skyscrapers to enjoy the panoramic views of the city. The KL Tower is just perfect for that as you get to admire the iconic Petronas Towers and Merdeka 118, which is the second tallest building in the world.
Your entrance ticket also includes access to the skyboxes, which makes for a very cool and thrilling experience.

4. Kwai Chai Hong
Kwai Chai Hong is located in a hidden alley and gained popularity by its ‘Insta-worthy’ look. If you like to take some cute shots or just want to stroll around, this place can’t be missed!

5. KLCC park
Admire the Petronas Towers during a lovely walk in KLCC park. This green environment in the middle of the city makes for the perfect place to deconnect from the busy city streets.
At night you can enjoy a fountain show with lights & music. This activity is for free.

6. Sri Mahamariamman Temple
This stunning temple is relatively close to Kwai Chai Hong and a real treat for the eye. The amount of details in the structure will blow you away.
Fun fact: this is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur.

7. Petronas Towers
Last but not least: nothing is more iconic in Kuala Lumpur than the Petronas Towers. Did you know they are the highest twin towers in the world?
Admire them during the day, but even better: at night.
